"During the special Assembly session convened to discuss the relief and rehabilitation measures underway to cope with the state’s worst floods in a century, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed the House that a total of 483 people lost their lives in rain-related incidents this monsoon. While 14 people are reported to be still missing, around 140 people were admitted to hospitals during this period.
Vijayan, who deferred his trip to the US for medical treatment scheduled for earlier this month to lead his administration’s rehabilitation exercise, said the losses due to the floods and landslides are more than the state’s annual plan. In the 2017-18 fiscal year, Kerala’s annual plan outlay was pegged at Rs 26,500 crore.
“The rescue operations which took place at the height of the monsoon are without comparison. To all those who sacrificed their lives to help others, who took brave and daring steps to rescue one another, we want to offer a big salute,” the chief minister said in his speech."

The number of earthquakes has increased by two orders of magnitude
in the dam era compared to the pre-dam era. And the mean duration between successive earthquakes
has decreased for significant earthquakes in the world from 4.9633 to 0.0422
years respectively. And the mean time between earthquakes in the hydrological
year 2017-18 stood at 0.012431457 of a day or every 17.9 minutes. This enormous
increase in frequency of earthquakes has greatly increased the direct heating
up of the earth by dams. See the following Table:

The solution to the
disasters caused by modern civilization:
Ecologically reforest the world making dams infinitely
inferior to forests. Simultaneously phase out the dams asap. Move away from
modern civilization, a society of specialists. See Reference 8.

While specialists recognise that extreme rainfall events caused the Kerala floods of August 2018, they fail to see the root cause of the Kerala floods were the dams themselves:

This article is a big zero because it ignores my work on dams as the principal cause of many catastrophes befalling the wild man and his industrial revolution.
