Today is Earth Day!
Many people of Mysore have no civic sense. They throw garbage on the roadside, making sure that the place is some other place other than their house. The municipal corporation does not care. If we give an online complaint they promptly reply that it has been attended, when in fact it has not been. They throw the garbage in such a way as to break the other house's drainage system and choking it in the process.
The proper way is to hand over the garbage to the door to door garbage collector. The door to door garbage collector is irregular in collecting the garbage. The municipality must supervise the proper collection strictly so that it does not become a health hazard.
Go and visit the city and see for yourself the civic sense prevailing.
Perhaps the naxalites or the Moaists know how to make the citizen and the Municipality listen. It is happening in Odisha, Chhatisgarh and happened elsewhere like Jaduguda. Hope it is not too late to teach punishment and democracy.

Perfect designs are those which allow you to design around the Unknowable. Nuclear programmes, dams and in fact modern civilisation transgress rudely this principle driven by greed. We reap what others sow: The Three Mile Islands, the Chernobyls, the Fukushimas and others on the drawing board. Dams cumulatively by direct heating up of the earth cause earthquakes and tsunamies and climate change. Live contented with what you can do without perfect mass murders by realising you are part of nature.
